Day 2: Digital Downsizing
Hello day 2! How are you feeling?
I hope you are feeling a bit refreshed and inspired after tackling some of those categories from your Day 1 checklist yesterday! I know that I always feel invigorated after decluttering a new space! Cheers to you in your successes from day one!
Today we are going to be chatting about digital downsizing, and a couple of my favorite ways to organize my digital doo-dads!
Before we dive into that, however, you will need your day 2 materials! Here is your Day 2 Checklist, ready for you to get going!
7 day Quest for Less: Day 2 Checklist
Today's Quest is to choose 3 or more categories from this list to declutter! If you feel inspired, tackle all of the categories!
Receipts & Bills
Manuals & Warranties
Unused phone Apps
For you Evernote lovers, here is your checklist!
Ok ok, so what is this Evernote dealybob?
It's one of the apps I use to keep all my lists, tasks, receipts and other important items organized. What I love about it is that it's FREE and you can sync it to your computer! It is available for both apple products and android products. If you haven't already downloaded this baby out of curiosity, go ahead and give it a try today! I'm sure you will fall in love with it!
Evernote is one of the secrets to my simplicity.
For the longest time I felt like I needed a notebook to keep all my lists organized, and I wonder if it was because I hadn't tried a digital system that worked for me. More recently I have found that minimizing and digitizing my things has been very helpful. It's interesting I still use a paper planner for other things (and plan by the moon!). Is it because I enjoy both for different reasons? It doesn't matter if you want to have both, or one or the other. You will know what works best for you, but I do encourage you to give this digital way to downsize a try! Evernote has been the answer to a problem I had and the solution to cleaning up the cray!
As a busy mom, I'm constantly making lists of things that need to be done.
It's so great to be able to share lists with my husband and work on things together. In addition to Evernote, I also use the Scannable app. This is super awesome as it works with Evernote, and essentially turns your phone into a scanner! Need to keep a receipt for tax purposes but don't want to deal with a crinkly mess? Scan it with this app and save it to your camera roll, or to a special place in Evernote! Currently, Scannable is available for iPhone.
I can't emphasize enough how much these apps have helped me downsize the amount of paper clutter in my home, and have also optimized and organized my digital clutter! *Happy dance*
In addition to your Day 2 Checklist, I have a couple special bonus challenges for you...
Pop over to your inbox and unsubscribe from retailers that you no longer shop from. The temptation to buy buy buy will come around, the longer they stay in your inbox! You can do it!
Downsize your screen time. I know, you already judge yourself for how much time you spend on your phone, the computer, etc. this isn’t about judgement. It’s about creating more space for the things that you want to experience in your life. So much of the time we get caught up in scrolling and miss what’s going on around us. You will feel so much more present when you do this darling!
And that is it for Day 2! Looking forward to checking back in tomorrow with your Day 3 materials and some inspiring tips!
Keep up the great work!
