Letting Go of Old Programming

I have failed so many times. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
As I was launching, and growing my community... I made so many mistakes, and have learned so much since then. Over the years, we grow, we expand, and if we work at it... we start to become who we really truly are. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I fell into so many traps, thinking I needed *this* to succeed, taking tons of courses (which still hold value!), but getting sidetracked from what I actually wanted to do, which was to improve the lives of those around me, write my little heart out, and supporting the health and wellness journeys of others. It's almost like a "shiny item" syndrome, where you see something sparkly and you're drawn to it, but after a while you turn around and see you are miles away from your purpose and dream.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Maybe that hasn't happened to you, but I have totally experienced it and wanted to share it with you today. I hope that you don't get sidetracked on the road to your dreams. You can DO this. You can absolutely succeed. It is already inside of you and part of who you are.⠀⠀

Letting Go of Old Programming

This morning I was visiting with one of my best friends, Crystal Schwanke (That Old Kitchen Table), and we were talking about our feelings around all of this. I had mentioned yet another coach I wanted to work with, and she said something so beautifully, that I simply had to share it with you. She said:

“You don’t need their coaching. You know enough to coach yourself now. It just seems worth it because then it’s coming from someone else’s mouth. You already know all this stuff. That means you’re seeking external validation, and if you shouldn’t (don’t!) need that, there is no reason to give anyone any money to tell you what you would be able to tell someone else who came to you for the same help you’re seeking. Write yourself a note and sign it as your alter ego. Pin it up somewhere near your desk. Record voice messages and play them back to yourself. All that stuff is free and it’s really all you need to unleash your passion and drive to do all the things you’ve ever dreamed of.”

Soon after she said this, I realized I was speaking from a place of old programming. A past version of myself where I believed that who I am now, in this moment, was not enough to move forward from a place of empowered belief. This of course isn’t true, and I’m so grateful to have a friend that reminds me of who I am. Thank you Crystal, I love you to pieces dear.

Now… this share isn’t to say don’t invest in programs or coaches. Just that there is a time, place, and mindset for everything. Even when I coach others, I remind them that they have all that they need, I’m only to serve as a helper and reminder of their own inner light and greatness.

You have everything you need within you, right now, in this moment.

I would love to know if this resonated with you, or if you have something to share with me that you learned in your own adventures!
