DIY Sunscreen

Summer is HERE! That means lots of time outdoors in the fresh air and fun with friends and family! It also means it's time to cover up! Haha, I mean with sunscreen! I'm a big fan of getting your Vitamin D from the sun, but our little bodies can only take so much from those crazy rays! Here is a fantastic recipe to protect your skin and make your own suncreen featuring Helichrysum Essential Oil!  

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 Cup Olive Oil

1/4 Cup Fractionated Coconut Oil

1/4 Cup Beeswax

2 Tbsp Shea Butter

1 Tsp Vitamin E Oil

2 Tbsp Zinc Oxide

12 Drops Helichrysum Essential Oil

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Place all ingredients (except zinc oxoide and helichrysum) into a glass bowl.

Fill sauce pan with 2-3in of water on meduim heat.

Place glass bowl in sauce pan and stir as ingredients melt.

Remove from heat and add the helichrysum essential oil and zinc oxide.

Pour into a glass jar and store in a cool place. Apply lotion to skin before sun exposure.

Re-apply as needed!
