Creating Community

What makes your doTERRA Community unique? What are you doing to create a community that stands out? This training is going to cover on how you can create and develop a community of your own, and in turn, empower those you attract!

When I first started building my doTERRA business, I had just learned that I could. In fact, my original enroller didn't tell me that I could build a business! The mindset work I have done over the years, could have really helped me back then, but I'm going to be super honest with you. I started my business in a scarcity mindset, hoping for anyone and everyone to join me in my oil mission. I cannot tell you how wrong I was to start my business in this headspace. I have, however, learned so much from this, and that is exactly why I am sharing about this topic today!

Before I dive into creating your community, I want to share why it is a mistake to work with "just anyone". I'm going to be blunt, working with "just anyone" makes you look desperate, and people can feel the desperation seeping out of you. It takes away from your leadership capabilities, and puts you in circles of people that may otherwise take more energy to support, or people that don't have the same kind of vision for this business as you. This isn't to say that everyone needs to see things the way that you do, but each person you let into your "home" or business, is a customer that needs care or a business partner. If you have dramatically different views of where you want to take this business, therein provides a lovely new problem that... quite honestly, most leaders struggle with.

So! We nip this in the bud in the beginning, before your business is really really growing. I want you to create your ideal customer and your ideal business partner. This is going to take some time and effort from you, oh... but it is so worth it in the end! Think about the perfect person you want to enroll, and the perfect person you want to work with. Give them names. Write down what they like. *Timeout* Maybe this sounds like a silly fantasy, but I'm telling you it works! *Back to work* What do they wear? Where do they like to hang out? What do they read? Do they have children? How old are they? (No range here! Pick a specific age)

What you have done is created an "avatar" of sorts to help you call into your Community, the kind of person and people you are looking for. What this will do, is provide a basis for all members to connect on. You can also utilize these questions from Double Presidential Diamond, Hayley Hobson, to help identify the kind of community you wish to create.

  • What is your why? Why are you in business? Why are you passionate about these products?
  • What problems is your audience facing? How do you solve those problems?
  • What’s the emotional experience that you want your audience to have?

Think about it! All of these questions can apply to creating your business community, your wholesale customer community, and your prospective community. You are a powerhouse, and you can create the kind of community you want. Nothing will ever be perfect, but if you are intentional about this as you start your doTERRA business, I can promise it will only be uphill from here!
