If you love making shakes and smoothies at home, you are going to love this! dōTERRA Slim & Sassy TrimShake is a convenient and delicious weight management shake mix that provides essential nutrients and only 70 calories per serving! Blended with water or nonfat dairy, almond, rice, or soy milk, TrimShake can be used as part of a weight-loss strategy of reducing daily caloric intake and burning fat stores through exercise.

A lean, trim body composition is a reflection of a healthy lifestyle that includes eating right and staying physically active. Eating right means eating appropriate quantities and eating quality foods that include a healthy ratio of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and vitamins and minerals. A healthy diet of fresh, whole fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and healthy proteins provides the body with the resources it needs for energy production, growth, and immune and other metabolic functions.

Too much food can be unhealthy. Fat cells function as the body’s energy storage units. Excess calories not converted to energy or used as building blocks for growth and repair can be converted to lipids and stored in fat cells. When the body has used other more readily available energy stores, fat cells release stored lipids as fuel for energy metabolism. Maintaining a lean body composition requires storing fewer excess calories in fat cells and increasing the release of calories stored in fat cells to be used for energy production. In other words, to keep fit and trim, we need to eat less and exercise more. We also need to eat smarter.

Slim & Sassy TrimShake includes the patented weight-loss ingredient EssentraTrim®†, which research has shown to help manage cortisol—a stress hormone associated with fat storage in the abdomen, hips, and thighs. Slim & Sassy TrimShake also includes Solathin, a special protein extract from natural food sources that supports an increased feeling of satiety. Available in natural chocolate and vanilla flavors, TrimShake blends well with water or milk and provides 8 grams of protein and 2.5 grams of fiber per serving.

Primary Benefits

  • Provides a convenient low-fat, low-sodium, low-calorie, sugar-free, lean alternative that is a good source of fiber for individuals trying to lose fat or maintain a lean body composition through calorie reduction and exercise
  • Helps manage the release of the stress hormone cortisol, which is associated with the accumulation of fat, particularly around the stomach, hips, and thighs
  • May help control stress-induced appetite, overeating, and carbohydrate cravings
  • May help support blood sugar levels already in the normal range and enhance energy levels while helping to alleviate fatigue commonly associated with dieting and exercise

Directions for Use

Blend one scoop of shake mix in 1/2 cup of almond, rice, or soy milk, or water until smooth and creamy. Also blends well with fruits and vegetables. For unique flavor options, blend one drop of your favorite doTERRA essential oil in shake. Serve chilled.

Vegan Option- V Shake

The decision to eat vegetarian or vegan is a lifestyle that is gaining popularity and is a huge commitment. Everyone needs to eat the proper ratios of nutrients to maintain a healthy weight and the decision to eat vegan makes it a bit more difficult. There are plenty of whey-based diet shakes on the market, but not as many that cater to vegan-minded people.  dōTERRA Slim & Sassy V Shake is a convenient, completely vegan-friendly, delicious weight management shake mix that provides essential nutrients and only 74 calories per serving. V Shake blends well with water or rice, soy or almond milk and provides 7 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber per serving.

PUMPKIN Snickerdoodles!

This recipe is from Cooking Classy, and I made a couple "essential tweaks" so that you can use it with our beautiful oils! I can guarantee that this recipe will make you the GHOST-ess with the mostest!

Prep Time: 25 minutes   Cook Time: 13 minutes   Yield: 3 dozen

    • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 3 1/2 tsp cornstarch
    • 1 tsp cream of tartar
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 + 1/8 tsp salt
    • 1 drop Cinnamon Essential Oil
    • 1 drop Ginger Essential Oil
    • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 large egg yolk
    • 3/4 cup canned pumpkin puree
    • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • In a mixing bowl whisk together flour, cornstarch, cream of tartar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon oil, ginger oil, nutmeg and allspice for 20 seconds, set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar (not until pale and fluffy, just to combined. Occasionally scrape down sides and bottom of bowl throughout entire mixing process if not using a paddle attachment that constantly scrapes bowl while mixing). Mix in egg yolk, then mix in pumpkin and vanilla extract. With mixer set on low speed, slowly add in dry ingredients then mix until combined. Divide dough in half and place each half in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and chill 45 minutes to 1 hour (dough should be slightly sticky so the cinnamon sugar will stick when rolling but they should be manageable to roll in the palms of your hands). Preheat oven to 350 degrees during last 10 minutes of refrigeration.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup granulated sugar with 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Scoop dough out 2 even tablespoons at a time (run the measuring spoon against side and edge of bowl so it will slightly deflate the dough while also giving an equal tbsp, twice per ball) and shape into a ball, roll dough ball in cinnamon sugar mixture to evenly coat then transfer to Silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheets spacing cookies 2-inches apart. Bake in preheated oven 12 - 14 minutes (they should look just slightly under-baked as they'll cook slightly once removed from oven). Cool on baking sheet about 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Last weekend, my family and I drove to a ranch in the middle of the mountains out here, and visited their Lavender festival! We had so much fun walking around the fields, smelling all of the lovely flowers and taking in the aroma. Of course... I was snapping photos like a mad woman. We enjoyed every moment and it really was a great family outing. If you have the chance to go to a lavender festival near you, definitely DO!

Most of us have experienced lavender in one way or another. In our home we use doTERRA, and it is amaaaaazing! In any case, lavender is one of my personal favorite oils and I will tell you why! Lavender has been used and cherished for centuries for its unmistakable aroma and myriad benefits. In ancient times, the Egyptians and Romans used Lavender for bathing, relaxation, cooking, and as a perfume; it is widely used for its calming and relaxing qualities which continue to be Lavender’s most notable qualities. Lavender is frequently used to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. Add to bath water to soak away stress or apply to the temples and the back of the neck. Add a few drops of Lavender to pillows, bedding, or bottoms of feet to promote a restful night’s sleep. Due to Lavender’s versatile properties, it is considered the must-have oil to have on hand at all times.

Lavender is great for so many things and supports the body in multiple ways, especially when it comes to emotions, and helps support better communication with others, and bringing out your voice. Here are some of the main ways to use lavender:

• Soothes occasional skin irritations

•Taken internally, Lavender reduces anxious feeling and promotes peaceful sleep

•Helps ease feelings of tension.

• Add a few drops of Lavender to pillows, bedding, or bottoms of feet at bedtime.

•Keep a bottle of Lavender on hand to soothe occasional skin irritations.

•Freshen your linen closet, mattress, car, or the air by combining Lavender with water in a spray bottle.

•Take internally to reduce anxious feelings.

•Use in cooking to soften citrus flavors and add a flavorful twist to marinades, baked goods, and desserts.

So you can see, there are SO many ways to use this amazing essential oil, and it is a staple in our home. I actually have the lavender touch roller on my nightstand, and before bedtime, I roll it on my neck and feet to promote a restful slumber. It is so simple and I love being able to just roll it on my feet.
