What would life look like if you were living it at your full potential, and living in the most extraordinary way? What beautiful things would your create? Which people would you serve?

How can you bring more empowered moments into the life you’re living right now? Over 6 years ago, I was struggling so deeply with depression, anxiety, and plagued with negativity. I hated myself so much, and felt like I had tried everything to get myself to a better headspace. Not an easy feat as a new mother. For half my pregnancy and half of the first year of Daen’s life, I had to navigate these emotions and struggles with my husband in Afghanistan. I knew that I needed to make a change because what I was doing wasn’t working.

Essential oils have played a massive part in my overall health and wellness, mental, spiritual, and emotional transformation, and have lead me to so many beautiful tools in personal development. The woman I am today was molded. I worked so hard to become this version of myself because I knew there was so much more to life than what I was allowing myself to experience.

I want this for you, and I want to celebrate your wins, no matter how big or small you think they are. I want to celebrate your transformations, even when you’re in the thick of it and can’t see how far you’ve come. I want to be there for you every step of the way, so that you don’t ever have to feel alone on your journey.

Establishing Healthy Boundaries

I need to share something that has been on my mind for a while... something in the world that needs to be healed. Our boundaries. In this beautiful world today, we have access to so much with our technology. I remember when I was a kid, before we had caller ID and voicemail, and I also remember that time of boundaries. I vividly remember my mom sharing with me that my friends weren’t allowed to contact me after 9pm. At the time I thought it was strange, but I’m so grateful she instilled this in me.

As an entrepreneur, sometimes we have the tendency or compulsion, to be available to everyone at all times. We ask ourselves ridiculous questions like, “What if it’s an important message?” or something like, “What if I’m missing out on a new customer?” or even worse, “What if I’m letting someone down?” I have thought all of this and so much more, and have had my fair share of apologies to my family for “having to” run off to another room for a quick call. Don’t get it twisted though, all of those moments were choices. ⠀ ⠀

Why are we choosing to allow our technology to dictate our actions? I’m of the mindset now that the “Do not disturb” feature is my new best friend. Re-writing your boundaries isn’t going to be easy, but I can tell you it will be worth it. Give yourself a little grace and TLC by deciding on a time when you’ll respond to your messages. Break out of the compulsions and craziness, and get back to communicating in a way that lights up your soul. ⠀ ⠀

5 years later...

Today we celebrate my 5 year anniversary with dōTERRA. I can’t even begin to describe how grateful I am... but I will certainly try my best. dōTERRA pulled me out of the darkness in my life. In so many ways... dōTERRA saved me. Our family has been deeply touched by the impact of our essential oils and supplements, in ways that I am so grateful for. Our emotional health, physical health, family dynamic, marital relationship... all have been improved and supported by these little brown bottles.

Over the last 5 years, I have met so many kind hearts and beautiful souls. My community has grown from a few oil lovers, to a family of almost 1,000. As we share these gifts of the earth with others, we are making a difference in their quality of life. We are also making a global impact... David Stirling said this so beautifully,

Creating New Habits

When were are transitioning into a healthier lifestyle, sometimes creating new habits can be a bit daunting. We think about all of the things we are leaving behind, maybe hang on a little to tightly to the past, and have a hard time being consistent with our new habits. Before we jump in, remember that you don't have to be perfect. You are taking care of yourself and that also means your journey doesn't have to look a certain way to be successful.

Creating new habits doesn't have to be a scary task, in fact, I would encourage you to make this the most fun and exciting thing you do today! Find something that you love, and focus on that! What do I mean by this? Take a look...

Food Habits

  • When it comes to creating healthier habits in the realm of food, don't focus on the foods you aren't eating! Focus on a specific food, that you love and enjoy! I freaking love avocados, so if I add that to a dish, I know that I'm going to get to savor the experience, since it has a food that I love!

Exercise Habits

  • Don't force yourself to do exercise that you hate. Try new things to figure out what your style is. Maybe you are super into running but not much a fan of yoga. Maybe you hate running, and Tai Chi is totally your thing. Maybe you love weights but hate cardio. Whatever the case, focus on an activity you LOVE so that you want to keep doing it!

Oil Habits

  • Use oils that you LOVE! I will be honest, there are a few oils that when I smelled them at first, I wasn't a fan. Over time however, the aroma changed for me and I'm able to love them! Find a way to incorporate the oils you love into your daily routine. Love Lemon? Add it to your diffuser, and to your glass of water in the morning to start your day feeling refreshed! Get creative, and make your habits FUN!

  • If you don't enjoy writing in a journal, maybe try using the voice to text feature on your phone, or record yourself as an audio journal! Try everything and find what you love. Use your oils with meditation, or in the bath! In order to find what lights you up, (which will keep you on track) you need to try new things!

You can do this. You can totally follow through and stick to the new habits you create, if you focus on the aspects of those habits that you love!

Journal Prompts for Self Discovery

Do you like to journal? Have you made it one of your goals this year to do more journaling? I know that writing consistently in a journal is something I have struggled with in the past, but I made a point to really commit to it last year. I can't even begin to tell you the massive growth and discoveries since then, only that I totally want this for you too! Today I'm going to share some of my favorite journaling prompts to help you get the wheels turning and help you get writing!

Outside of prompts, a great journaling practice to have is gratitude! Writing down at least 5 things daily that you are grateful for, puts you in the space to receive more to be grateful for! So soak up that gratitude and let it fill you up on a daily basis! Celebrate your wins regularly, even if they are tiny. (Trust me, getting the dishes done is a big win!)

With that, here are your prompts. Take your time with these. You don't need to answer them all at once, or even at all! Let them inspire you to start writing, and then keep going. Your intuition has so much more to show you. Once you get started, don't think about it, jus write what comes to you!

  • What books have I read that made a positive impact in my life?
  • What meditations/affirmations did I listen to that empowered me? How do I feel after having listened to them?
  • Am I waiting for somebody to inspire me or do I inspire myself? What do I admire in the people that inspire me? What do I learn from them?
  • What do I want to learn in 2018?
  • How do I feel loved? How do I show love to my friends, family, and my partner? What do I love about myself? What do I want to grow? How do I practice self love?
  • Who do I need to forgive? Have I forgiven myself? How do I practice forgiveness? (Take time to forgive and let go now)
  • What goals do I have regarding family, love, and friendship in 2018?
  • What can I do to make my relationships more fulfilling?

Again, let these inspire you. Find time for yourself in the morning or in the evening (I do both!) to sit down and be intentional with your journaling. You never know what you might discover!

New Year ResOILutions

Happy 2018! I'm so glad we are opening up a brand new year with so much cheer and positivity! I will be honest with you... I'm not a "resolutions" kind of gal. I'm more of an intentions and goals kind of gal! BUT for the sake of puns... we will chat about our ResOILutions for 2018! These of course are just suggestions, but if you are looking to improve your overall wellbeing, and get the most out of your oils... I think you are going to love what I have to share today!

I'm not sure about you, but I love getting a fresh new start, which is why I think so many people love to create new habits, and resolutions in January. I got started in December, by creating a list of my intentions and goals for 2018, but it is never too late to start or think about how you want your year to play out. Every day we get that fresh opportunity to start over, that chance to walk through our day in a high vibe state, or give into negativity. In fact, I'd argue that we had that same opportunity every hour, minute, and second of our day to live out a new reality! (Sure takes off the pressure right?) So, as you carve your way throughout this brand new year, remember that it doesn't have to be picture perfect. It doesn't need to look like my year, or your neighbor's, or your BFF Jill's. Your year is yours and yours alone. Using essential oils more often and consistently is only going to enhance your overall experience, so let's look at 10 Essential ResOILutions you can follow in 2018!

Lemon ResOILution

  • Perk Up. First, diffuse lemon essential oil to brighten and energize your mood. Then, pamper yourself by mixing a few drops with Melaleuca and fractionated coconut oil and apply on tired, dry, cracked feet.

Lavender ResOILution

  • Take A Lavender Bath. Drop about 4 drops of lavender essential oil along with 1cup Epsom salts to your bath water for an ultra-relaxing experience.

Peppermint ResOILution

  • Awaken Your Senses. Before your work out, apply a bit of Peppermint to your chest or just take a deep breathe straight from the open bottle. Then, after your workout add to shampoo to stimulate your senses & help with scalp health.

  • No More Nerves. Use Frankincense to help relieve anxious feelings and create a positive mood! Try combining Frankincense, Peppermint and Wild Orange essential oil in your hand, rub hands together, and inhale deeply. This mix will also help with the most severe need for a three o’ clock pick-me-up!

Melaleuca ResOILution

  • Refresh Your Wash. Add a couple drops of Melaleuca to laundry detergent to get rid of any musty smells caused by poor ventilation.

  • Be Naturally Protected, All Day. Let On Guard with Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary assist in the work of immune support and maintenance. One of the most popular ways to use Protective Blend is to add a few drops to a Veggie Capsule and swallow. It does wonders!
