Book Review: You are a badass at Making Money
After reading You are a Badass by Jen Sincero, I was so excited to learn of her writing a follow up... You are a Badass at Making Money! Today I am sharing with you some of my favorite takeaways and thoughts about this book. Much like the first book, I thought it was an easy ready with great content. If you don't like cussing, you might be distracted, but I don't think it takes away from the content at all really.
This book is all about releasing the limitations you have around money. Example, if you cringe at the title of this book... you have some issues to work out with money! Jen breaks this down, it's simple, relatable, and all about shaping your mindset around money. Each chapter has practical steps you can take, including journaling, to help you get to where you want to be with money.
-"One of the biggest obstacles to making lots of money is not a lack of good ides or opportunities or time, or that we're too slovenly or stupid, it's that we refuse to give ourselves permission to become rich." page 14
-"The walls of your comfort zone are lovingly decorated with you lifelong collection of favorite excuses." page 36
-"Money is Currency and Currency is Energy. Money is a blank slate that gets its value from the energy and meaning we give it." page 67
-"You have to want your dreams more than you want your drama." page 90
-"The thoughts, beliefs, and emotions we don't consciously reject, we unconsciously accept." page 131
-"When it comes to changing your life, if you're not scared, you're doing something wrong." page 137
-"You can't see the silver lining through victim goggles." page 158
-"You can have your ego, or you can have your dreams." page 213
I definitely recommend grabbing You are a Badass at making Money and reading it. This is a book I know I will come back to again and again for inspiration, as well as the writing exercises.
