A message from your Coach

“We do not attract what we want; we attract what we are.“ -Dr. Wayne Dyer Who are you right now? Who do you want to be? What would life look like if you were living it at your full potential, and living in the most extraordinary way? What beautiful things would your create? Which people would you serve?

How can you bring more empowered moments into the life you’re living right now? Over 6 years ago, I was struggling so deeply with depression, anxiety, and plagued with negativity. I hated myself so much, and felt like I had tried everything to get myself to a better headspace. Not an easy feat as a new mother. For half my pregnancy and half of the first year of Daen’s life, I had to navigate these emotions and struggles with my husband in Afghanistan. I knew that I needed to make a change because what I was doing wasn’t working.

Essential oils have played a massive part in my overall health and wellness, mental, spiritual, and emotional transformation, and have lead me to so many beautiful tools in personal development. The woman I am today was molded. I worked so hard to become this version of myself because I knew there was so much more to life than what I was allowing myself to experience.

I want this for you, and I want to celebrate your wins, no matter how big or small you think they are. I want to celebrate your transformations, even when you’re in the thick of it and can’t see how far you’ve come. I want to be there for you every step of the way, so that you don’t ever have to feel alone on your journey.

xoxo

Your Coach, Dalea

Establishing Healthy Boundaries

Blog-Post-Headers-February-19.png

I need to share something that has been on my mind for a while... something in the world that needs to be healed. Our boundaries. In this beautiful world today, we have access to so much with our technology. I remember when I was a kid, before we had caller ID and voicemail, and I also remember that time of boundaries. I vividly remember my mom sharing with me that my friends weren’t allowed to contact me after 9pm. At the time I thought it was strange, but I’m so grateful she instilled this in me.

As an entrepreneur, sometimes we have the tendency or compulsion, to be available to everyone at all times. We ask ourselves ridiculous questions like, “What if it’s an important message?” or something like, “What if I’m missing out on a new customer?” or even worse, “What if I’m letting someone down?” I have thought all of this and so much more, and have had my fair share of apologies to my family for “having to” run off to another room for a quick call. Don’t get it twisted though, all of those moments were choices. ⠀ ⠀

Why are we choosing to allow our technology to dictate our actions? I’m of the mindset now that the “Do not disturb” feature is my new best friend. Re-writing your boundaries isn’t going to be easy, but I can tell you it will be worth it. Give yourself a little grace and TLC by deciding on a time when you’ll respond to your messages. Break out of the compulsions and craziness, and get back to communicating in a way that lights up your soul. ⠀ ⠀

Does this resonate with you? Let me know. ⠀

5 years later...

Today we celebrate my 5 year anniversary with dōTERRA. I can’t even begin to describe how grateful I am... but I will certainly try my best. dōTERRA pulled me out of the darkness in my life. In so many ways... dōTERRA saved me. Our family has been deeply touched by the impact of our essential oils and supplements, in ways that I am so grateful for. Our emotional health, physical health, family dynamic, marital relationship... all have been improved and supported by these little brown bottles.

Over the last 5 years, I have met so many kind hearts and beautiful souls. My community has grown from a few oil lovers, to a family of almost 1,000. As we share these gifts of the earth with others, we are making a difference in their quality of life. We are also making a global impact... David Stirling said this so beautifully,

“What I admire most about the people of dōTERRA is our love of others and our commitment to share and give back. We are you-centric. As a result of this outward mindset is that as we focus on others, we grow in power as a person. We discover who we really are, and who we can really become, as we lead, guide, and walk beside the people in our lives. In that process we also will find that our hearts are filled with a more satisfying joy as those people whom we have helped achieve their goals.”

This is the heart of dōTERRA, the heart of my business, and the heart of my mission in life. It has always been my hope and dream to create a positive impact in the world, and I am so grateful for our High Vibe Oils Tribe. In the last five years I have grown so much, and watched others as they rise, shine, and live a more vibrant and healthy lifestyle.

“You can go after your dreams, and still be the world’s greatest mom, all at the same time. We are teaching our children to chase their dreams.” -Emily Wright

If I have made a positive impact in your life in the last five years, (oily or not) I would love for you to share with me in the comments, and help me celebrate such a beautiful milestone in my life and business.

Creating New Habits

When were are transitioning into a healthier lifestyle, sometimes creating new habits can be a bit daunting. We think about all of the things we are leaving behind, maybe hang on a little to tightly to the past, and have a hard time being consistent with our new habits. Before we jump in, remember that you don't have to be perfect. You are taking care of yourself and that also means your journey doesn't have to look a certain way to be successful.

Creating new habits doesn't have to be a scary task, in fact, I would encourage you to make this the most fun and exciting thing you do today! Find something that you love, and focus on that! What do I mean by this? Take a look...

Food Habits

  • When it comes to creating healthier habits in the realm of food, don't focus on the foods you aren't eating! Focus on a specific food, that you love and enjoy! I freaking love avocados, so if I add that to a dish, I know that I'm going to get to savor the experience, since it has a food that I love!

Exercise Habits

  • Don't force yourself to do exercise that you hate. Try new things to figure out what your style is. Maybe you are super into running but not much a fan of yoga. Maybe you hate running, and Tai Chi is totally your thing. Maybe you love weights but hate cardio. Whatever the case, focus on an activity you LOVE so that you want to keep doing it!

Oil Habits

  • Use oils that you LOVE! I will be honest, there are a few oils that when I smelled them at first, I wasn't a fan. Over time however, the aroma changed for me and I'm able to love them! Find a way to incorporate the oils you love into your daily routine. Love Lemon? Add it to your diffuser, and to your glass of water in the morning to start your day feeling refreshed! Get creative, and make your habits FUN!

Detox Habits

Self Care Habits

  • If you don't enjoy writing in a journal, maybe try using the voice to text feature on your phone, or record yourself as an audio journal! Try everything and find what you love. Use your oils with meditation, or in the bath! In order to find what lights you up, (which will keep you on track) you need to try new things!

You can do this. You can totally follow through and stick to the new habits you create, if you focus on the aspects of those habits that you love!

  • Coriander Seed
  • Basil Herb

When you feel these feelings start to weigh on you, use Motivate topically or aromatically for a boost of positive emotion. Motivate can promote feelings of confidence, courage, and belief and will help you become a more positive and more inspired you. If setbacks and disappointments have you down on yourself or are starting to have a discouraging effect on your emotions, it may be time to regroup and restore you to a more positive outlook. In times like these, use doTERRA Motivate as an encouraging companion to steer you away from negative emotions.

In need of a boost of confidence before a performance or speech? Here’s a little essential oil tip specifically for those moments. Simply apply Motivate to a shirt collar or a piece of clothing that is close to the face, and the blend’s aroma will give you the self-assurance you need to perform your best. When working on a long paper for school or spending hours on a project, add one or two drops of Motivate to the diffuser of your choice and diffuse. This fresh and minty blend will help you stay motivated and determined so that you can complete your projects.

Once you’ve taken the step to get up and press forward, continue to use the doTERRA Motivate essential oil blend to encourage and motivate you in your endeavors. If you are a part of sporting events or other competitions, apply Motivate to your pulse points before participating! This will give you a positive surge of confidence that will assist you in doing your best!

Journal Prompts for Self Discovery

Do you like to journal? Have you made it one of your goals this year to do more journaling? I know that writing consistently in a journal is something I have struggled with in the past, but I made a point to really commit to it last year. I can't even begin to tell you the massive growth and discoveries since then, only that I totally want this for you too! Today I'm going to share some of my favorite journaling prompts to help you get the wheels turning and help you get writing!

Outside of prompts, a great journaling practice to have is gratitude! Writing down at least 5 things daily that you are grateful for, puts you in the space to receive more to be grateful for! So soak up that gratitude and let it fill you up on a daily basis! Celebrate your wins regularly, even if they are tiny. (Trust me, getting the dishes done is a big win!)

With that, here are your prompts. Take your time with these. You don't need to answer them all at once, or even at all! Let them inspire you to start writing, and then keep going. Your intuition has so much more to show you. Once you get started, don't think about it, jus write what comes to you!

  • What books have I read that made a positive impact in my life?
  • What meditations/affirmations did I listen to that empowered me? How do I feel after having listened to them?
  • Am I waiting for somebody to inspire me or do I inspire myself? What do I admire in the people that inspire me? What do I learn from them?
  • What do I want to learn in 2018?
  • How do I feel loved? How do I show love to my friends, family, and my partner? What do I love about myself? What do I want to grow? How do I practice self love?
  • Who do I need to forgive? Have I forgiven myself? How do I practice forgiveness? (Take time to forgive and let go now)
  • What goals do I have regarding family, love, and friendship in 2018?
  • What can I do to make my relationships more fulfilling?

Again, let these inspire you. Find time for yourself in the morning or in the evening (I do both!) to sit down and be intentional with your journaling. You never know what you might discover!

New Year ResOILutions

Happy 2018! I'm so glad we are opening up a brand new year with so much cheer and positivity! I will be honest with you... I'm not a "resolutions" kind of gal. I'm more of an intentions and goals kind of gal! BUT for the sake of puns... we will chat about our ResOILutions for 2018! These of course are just suggestions, but if you are looking to improve your overall wellbeing, and get the most out of your oils... I think you are going to love what I have to share today!

I'm not sure about you, but I love getting a fresh new start, which is why I think so many people love to create new habits, and resolutions in January. I got started in December, by creating a list of my intentions and goals for 2018, but it is never too late to start or think about how you want your year to play out. Every day we get that fresh opportunity to start over, that chance to walk through our day in a high vibe state, or give into negativity. In fact, I'd argue that we had that same opportunity every hour, minute, and second of our day to live out a new reality! (Sure takes off the pressure right?) So, as you carve your way throughout this brand new year, remember that it doesn't have to be picture perfect. It doesn't need to look like my year, or your neighbor's, or your BFF Jill's. Your year is yours and yours alone. Using essential oils more often and consistently is only going to enhance your overall experience, so let's look at 10 Essential ResOILutions you can follow in 2018!

Lemon ResOILution

  • Perk Up. First, diffuse lemon essential oil to brighten and energize your mood. Then, pamper yourself by mixing a few drops with Melaleuca and fractionated coconut oil and apply on tired, dry, cracked feet.

Lavender ResOILution

  • Take A Lavender Bath. Drop about 4 drops of lavender essential oil along with 1cup Epsom salts to your bath water for an ultra-relaxing experience.

Peppermint ResOILution

  • Awaken Your Senses. Before your work out, apply a bit of Peppermint to your chest or just take a deep breathe straight from the open bottle. Then, after your workout add to shampoo to stimulate your senses & help with scalp health.

Oregano ResOILution

  • Keep Calm And Oregano On. Concerned about the sanitary conditions of a public place you or the kids have just walked on with bare feet? Your feet absorb more than you think. Follow up by applying one drop of Oregano and Thyme, diluted with 6-7 drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil. Happy feet.

Frankincense ResOILution

  • No More Nerves. Use Frankincense to help relieve anxious feelings and create a positive mood! Try combining Frankincense, Peppermint and Wild Orange essential oil in your hand, rub hands together, and inhale deeply. This mix will also help with the most severe need for a three o’ clock pick-me-up!

Melaleuca ResOILution

  • Refresh Your Wash. Add a couple drops of Melaleuca to laundry detergent to get rid of any musty smells caused by poor ventilation.

On Guard ResOILution

  • Be Naturally Protected, All Day. Let On Guard with Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary assist in the work of immune support and maintenance. One of the most popular ways to use Protective Blend is to add a few drops to a Veggie Capsule and swallow. It does wonders!

Deep Blue ResOILution

  • Your Best Bike Trip Break…Ever. Put a several drops of Soothing blend into an empty 5/8 dram bottle so it is easy to keep in your pouch and take on your next biking trip!

Breathe ResOILution

  • Boost Brain Power. Breathe contains Eucalyptus essential oil which is known to help stimulate mental activity and wake up your mind. The powerfully beneficial oils of Peppermint, Lemon, and Melaleuca are all included in the Respiratory blend and are perfect if you are feeling under the weather.

DigestZen ResOILution

  • Tame a Tummy. Rub on your child’s tummy when they have an occasional tummy ache. Apply before bedtime and it will help them sleep soundly too! Dilute 1 drop of the Digestive blend with fractionated coconut oil and massage onto baby’s tummy when upset.

So cheers to the new year and your wonderful, healthy new habits! If you loved this, and want to see more ways to use these oils, check out my post here on 150 Ways to use my Top 10 Essential Oils!

Cultivating Gratitude

It seems every November there is some sort of challenge to help in cultivating more gratitude in your life! We focus on loved ones, and feel positive about all that we already have in our lives. I'm always happy to see people sharing what they are grateful for! Today, I am going to share a special essential oil that can support you in cultivating more gratitude, and that is Spikenard. I will also share about a few other oils, but Spikenard will be the focus!

Spikenard essential oil is considered the oil of gratitude, which is why it would be the one you want to use! It can help you let go of and release resistance, anger, victim mentality, selfishness, greed, and "murphy's law". You can use this oil regularly in your meditation practice, or while you are journaling a gratitude list. You can also apply it diluted to the solar plexus chakra center or use together with Tiger's Eye crystal. If the aroma of Spikenard isn't for you, try combining it with Clove, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Myrrh, Wild Orange, Rose, and Vetiver to create a personalized fragrance. These oils, while not specifically oils for Gratitude, pair well with Spikenard.

Here are other oils that can help to Cultivate Gratitude:

  • Wild Orange
  • Helichrysum
  • PastTense
  • Douglas Fir
  • Lime

You can use these in conjunction with Spikenard by diffusing, or adding in a roller bottle. I love writing down 5 things that I'm grateful for in my journal, both in the morning and in the evening. One of the beautiful things about gratitude is how it works with bringing about more to be grateful for. If you are focusing on what you already have, and expressing thanks and gratitude for it, you will see more of that in your life!

Share with me in the comments 3 things you are grateful for today!

Essential Oils for Abundance

Copy-of-Blog-Post-96.png

Call more abundance into your life with Essential Oils! If you're already working with the Law of Attraction, you are going to love what I have to share with you today! Get your diffusers and roller bottles ready, because you don't want to miss out on these high vibe oils and what they have to offer you!

When it comes to bringing more abundance into your life, affirmations, meditations, hypnosis, and focused manifestation can only be enhanced with the use of essential oils. Below you will find a list of the oils that can support you in drawing in more abundance. I encourage you to smell all of them, and create a blend using the oils that smell most pleasant to you. Use at least 3 drops each of 3 of the oils. The number 3 in itself is a magical number and powerful for manifestation.

Essential Oils for Abundance

  • Frankincense: Helps to become spiritually open, shields the body from negativity, and encourages connectivity.

  • Wild Orange: Helps to let go of the scarcity mindset, inspires solutions to issues, and promotes the true meaning of abundance.

  • Myrrh: Helps to feel safe and secure, nurturing to the soul, and establishes healthy attachments with others.

  • Patchouli: Helps to feel at peace in the present, let go of body tension, and promotes feelings of confidence.

  • Clove: Helps to release old patterns, let go of the victim mentality, and helps to promote clear boundaries.

  • Ginger: Helps to become present in the moment, promotes commitment to a goal, and empowers to take responsibility.

  • Cinnamon: Helps to let go of the fear of rejections, release shame, and promotes body acceptance.

My choice blend here would be combining 3 drops of Wild Orange, 3 drops of Frankincense, and 3 drops of Ginger, added to a 5 mL roller bottle with a Cinnabar crystal (to promote abundance) and a Quartz crystal point (to amplify the Cinnabar and the oils) and fill to the top with fractionated coconut oil. Apply to the back of the neck, wrists, bottoms of the feet (root chakra), and either the solar-plexus chakra center (just above the navel) or the sacral chakra center (just below the navel), in the morning and in the evening. Use this blend while you are practicing affirmations, meditating and calling abundance into your life, or while you are working. You can also create a diffuser blend with these oils to help inspire you throughout the day.

Are you excited to call more abundance into your life? Let me know in the comments below, and tell me how you blended these oils together!

Pay it Forward

So many of us love to pay it forward & give back, to our communities, to the world, and organizations that are near and dear to our hearts. With countless ways to get involved, today I wanted to share how you can participate and get your hands dirty! I also wanted to share some of my favorite organizations and what I love about them!

As a child, I was very involved in giving back to my community. My mother owned a dance studio, and we regularly performed at nursing homes for the residents. I remember this so vividly, because the residents were always so happy after our performances. Music and dance brought so much joy into their lives, and it was so much fun to bring that light into their day. I remember participating in all kinds of activities as a kid, so giving back or paying it forward has always been something I strongly identify with.

As a grown woman, wife, and mother, things haven't changed much in this arena for me... as my passion for helping others grows more each day. I feel very strongly about particular organizations, and make sure that I do what I can to both raise awareness, and give regularly. Social media has made this even easier for us, since we can share about a cause and our community will see it. Let me share with you which causes speak to my soul.

OUR Rescue

OUR Rescue exists to rescue children from sex trafficking by utilizing some of the world’s experts in extraction operations and anti-child trafficking efforts. OUR Rescue’s Jump Team, consisting of former CIA, Navy SEALs, and Special Ops operatives, lead coordinated identification and extraction efforts to rescue children being trafficked for sex. To ensure perpetuity and sustainability of these extraction efforts, OUR Rescue works with law enforcement in the countries where they rescue children to ensure that everything is done legally and with the support of the local authorities. The children rescued from these extraction efforts are then rehabilitated by OUR Rescue’s aftercare program, and the perpetrators are arrested, tried, and convicted to ensure that they don’t traffic children again.

doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation

Having experienced the life-enriching power of essential oils, a group of health-care and business professionals collaborated with a common goal of creating a new standard of essential oils that would influence individuals and communities around the world. In the spring of 2008, their vision became a reality and doTERRA, meaning “gift of the Earth,” was founded. Since the company’s beginning, high-quality essential oils sourced and distributed by doTERRA have spread throughout the globe, enhancing many lives. In addition to sharing essential oils with the world, doTERRA aspired to serve people and communities with the resources they had. Initially, this meant donating to charities, fundraisers, and community projects, but it eventually grew to be much more. The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation was created in June 2012 as an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The foundation is one of the ways doTERRA reaches out and serves communities in need. They do this by partnering with organizations and doTERRA Wellness Advocates to offer hope to millions around the world. Through the foundation’s efforts, lives are freed of disease and poverty, and communities are empowered with the tools needed to become self-reliant.

Founded on May 15, 1851, Alpha Delta Pi is the oldest secret society for college women in the world. Established at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, the first college chartered to grant degrees to women in the world, the story of Alpha Delta Pi is a remarkable one and it all began with a young girl’s dream. Eugenia Tucker was just sixteen years old when she left her family home in Laurens County, Georgia, to enter Wesleyan College. Before the end of her first year she would establish the first sorority in the world. The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation was established in 1983 and helps to provide emergency grants to members in crisis, leadership training for collegiate and alumnae sisters, resources to fight hazing and sexual assault, funding for the preservation of monuments and memorials unique to our history, and so much more!

Ways to get Involved & Take Action

Let's talk about some simple and practical ways for you to get involved today with your charities of choice! Below, you will find a handful of ideas that you can roll with at any given moment that will help others, and bring on those high vibes the world so desperately needs!

Donating Directly

This is probably the most obvious way to get involved, but of course I have to mention it! Sending in a donation to a charity has never been easier! Most organizations have donate buttons on their websites, and all over their social media. Some of them even have a recurring donation option, when you can choose an amount to donate every month! I love utilizing this feature to donate to the Healing Hands foundation, and also my Sorority's foundation as well!

Volunteering

If the organization you are wanting to support is in need of volunteers, this is an extremely meaningful way to get involved, spread awareness, and also have your friends join you. The sky is the limit with volunteering, as you can volunteer locally, or travel across the world to support your charity in a completely different country! More often than not, organizations are in constant need of volunteers to keep their organization running as well, so see this as an opportunity to stay involved regularly!

Fundraising

I feel like we all vaguely remember participating Elementary school fundraisers... or maybe you have kids that are participating in one right now! Regardless, fundraisers are not only a fab way to collect funds for your cause, but it is also fantastic to raise awareness of your cause too! Here you can find an awesome article that lays out 100 Unique Fundraising Ideas that Actually Work to get your wheels turning, and get a fundraiser off the ground and running!

Wearing Swag

It may seem simple, but what you wear on your body is a walking billboard for your cause. You can purchase merchandise from most charitable organizations, the proceeds are then donated to the cause, and you can raise awareness be sporting their swag. The great thing about this is that it really does start conversations, and can also connect you with people who support the organization as well. I got chased down at a Walmart one day when I was wearing my OUR Rescue shirt, just to be thanked and hugged for spreading awareness. You can make waves with a t-shirt, friend!

Go for a Run

If you do a quick google search, you can find 5k walks and runs in your area that are raising money for a charitable cause. If you can't find one nearby... then grab the bull by the horns and start your own! Not only is this a great way to stay active, but you are also encouraging other in your community to participate! Already signed up for one of these walks/runs? Blast it on your social media and have your friends join you! The more the merrier!

Donate your Birthday

Facebook has a super cool option for you to "Donate your Birthday" to a cause, encouraging your friends and family to donate and raise a certain amount for the organization of your choice. I have personally done this and found it to be so rewarding. As we get older, and we let go of expectations on how birthdays play out... this becomes something you can look forward to for so many other reasons! Celebrate how awesome you are by giving the spotlight to a cause you love!

As I said, there are countless ways to get involved, and this just scratches the surface! I hope you are motivated to get moving with some or all of these ideas, and we can help make the world a safer, kinder, more beautiful place for us all!

Which charities speak to you? What actions are you inspired to take today? What kind of fundraiser will you create? I always love hearing your feedback in the comments, so let me know!

Mala Beads

Mala beads are one of my most treasured items. Over the years, I have had a few Malas in my life. Today I'm sharing with you all about my beautiful new mala, and other goodies I've added to my Spiritual medicine bag! Tons of juicy goodness in this post today, so sit back and enjoy!

This is my brand new mala. I have two others, one that broke, and one that I am allergic to. (Say what?!) Let's talk about that before we dig in. My allergy mala has gigantic sandalwood beads, that leave me with an itch rash on my neck that lasts for days. I cannot wear it. I found this to be so strange as I don't have any issues with Sandalwood Essential oil on my skin. I tried everything to get that mala to vibe with me, but ultimately I had to let go of it as a jewelry piece. When I purchased this new mala, I had the same fear that I would have a reaction... but since I was ordering from a new place, I figured I would chance it! When I got the package in the mail, i could instantly feel the positive energy infused into my new jewelry and I was seriously so in love, from he moment I opened it! I could tell how much love and care they put into packaging their products.

I did have some itching in the beginning, but I'm proud to say that I am not rushing or breaking out anymore and this mala LOVES me back! I even reached out to the company to see if they had any suggestions to remedy this allergy and they WORKED! Who is this magical mala company that rocked my world?

Mama Malas drops som serious info on what Mala Beads are, how to use them, and more. Check it out!

What are mala beads?

Traditionally made with 108 beads plus a large guru stone that represents the intentions and purpose of your mala. Mala beads are meditation necklaces used to recite an affirmation or mantra that can also be worn as jewellery that offers a tangible (and beautiful) reminder of your intentions.

Why are there 108 beads on a mala?

Each mala is made up of 108 +1 beads since it is said that our bodies contain 108 major physical and subtle energy channels that reach the heart chakra. By chanting or listening to  a mantra 108 times the energy from the mantra permeates both the physical and energetic body. The 109th bead, also called the ‘guru’ bead, signifies the beginning and end of your meditation practice.

Although they are referred to as 108 mala beads, each Mama Mala actually contains 108 Sandalwood or Rudraksha beads plus a gemstone guru stone and gemstone markers that divide the mala into two sections of 27 and one of 54 to allow for a shorter, but still balanced, meditation.

Why are your malas made with sandalwood and rudraksha?

Sandalwood has been used to make mala and prayer beads for hundreds of years due to it’s calming and soothing properties. We love it because of its distinctive scent that instantly calms your mind and brings you into a meditative state. Rudraksha beads are the dried and drilled seeds of the Rudraksha Tree. We love that a tree is contained within each tiny seed, representing unlimited growth, possibilities and an open heart.

How do I choose the right set of mala beads for me?

The best advice we can give for choosing the perfect Mama Mala for you is to go with your initial gut instinct. Oftentimes your heart knows what you need before your brain catches up, so even if the intention doesn’t make logical sense, if you are drawn to a particular mala it’s for a reason.

Go a little more in-depth about finding your perfect mala here. Or take a peek here to see which one calls to your heart.

Should I meditate with my Mama Malas?

Absolutely! While mala beads are beautiful accessories on their own we highly recommend giving mala meditation a try because we believe that meditation is the best way to stay present, intentional and calm during the ups and downs of motherhood. We have also found that mala beads offer the perfect distraction from the “monkey mind” that can make starting a meditation practice intimidating or challenging.

How do I meditate with mala beads?

To meditate with your Mama Malas, begin by setting an intention for what you want to cultivate in your life.  Starting with the first sandalwood or rudraksha bead to the right of your guru bead, repeat your chosen mantra once for each sandalwood or rudraksha bead on your mala until you come back around to your guru bead.  End the meditation at the guru bead by giving thanks to the teachers that have helped you along your path, and setting or reaffirming your intentions. You can also hold your mala during a silent meditation and let it absorb the peace of the practice.

I've heard about mala breakthroughs, what are they?

A mala breaking is considered a sign of karmic progression and is something to be fully celebrated. Gemstones have a way of releasing you when they are no longer useful, and a broken mala can symbolise lessons learned and new beginnings. It has done its work. After having a mala breakthrough it is recommended to sit and meditate on the original description and intentions of the mala and process any breakthroughs or progression. Learn more about mala breakthroughs here.

How do I cleanse my mala beads?

Because gemstones absorb and emit energy, it is important to cleanse them if they feel heavy or "off". How often you cleanse your mala will depend on how often you wear them, and the situations you encounter.

If you encounter a lot of negative energy, many people touch or wear your mala, or you deal with a lot of stress, it is a good idea to cleanse your mala. Think of cleansing your mala as hitting the reset button on the healing properties of your stones. You can cleanse your mala with moonlight, or by burning white sage, palo santo or sweet grass.

To cleanse your mala by moonlight  leave place them outside or in a windowsill to absorb the cleansing energy of the moon (full moons work best for recharging crystals).

To cleanse with sage or palo santo place your sage or palo santo onto a fireproof plate and light it. Blow gently on the flame to allow it to smoulder. Take your hand and waft the smoke around your mala beads with the intention of clearing any negative energy.

No matter which way you choose to cleanse your malas be sure to take the time to sit with them and set your intentions after cleansing.

Pretty sweet right? Mama Malas also carry bracelets, and I am in LOVE with mine! The bottom bracelet you see pictured was a free gift with my purchase, made of Howlite and Rose Quartz beads... called the "I am CALM" gemstone intention bracelet. The one on top, (closest to the blackberries) is the Manifesting Mama bracelet. This is made with the same beads in my Male necklace, minus the Sandalwood. it is Made of Quartz, Labradorite, and Mother of Pearl.

"Clear Quartz is the ultimate manifesting stone, storing the energy of your intentions and amplifying them out into the universe. Labradorite and Mother of Pearl assist you in moving forward without fear of insecurity, and heighten your intuition so you are able to see the signs along the way that will move you closer to your dreams."

You can probably see why I am so obsessed with and pleased with my purchase from Mama Malas. I grabbed the pieces I was most drawn to and the have brought so much more positivity into my life! Coupling my meditations with these Malas and my essential oils is my favorite thing ever!

Essential Oils and Crystals

Blog-Post-16.png

Alright peeps, I'm busting out the woo-woo and chatting about another beautiful aspect of my life, Crystals. I grew up a crystal lover and have some fun and exciting stories to share with you in this post! If you have read a little bit about me, you'd know that I've been using essential oils since I was born, as my mother is very natural minded. My mama also exposed me to the world of crystals, and I am so so glad that she did.

I have been working with crystals since I was a child, and it's so amazing to see how they have impacted my life in such a powerful way. My spiritual journey, has been touched so deeply by crystals and essential oils. I have so much gratitude for my mother, introducing me to the holistic world as soon as I arrived earthside!

I wanted to share some old photos with you today, so you can see some of the rad hippie-dippie things I did when I was a child.

I'm still looking for some photos of my earlier trips to Quartzite, AZ from my childhood. I have fond memories of going yearly with my family to look at crystals, and being able to choose some for myself that were special to me. One of my favorite trips, I think I was around 7 or 8 years old, we actually camped out at this hillside, and were able to dig for and pick up crystals off the ground! It was so much fun! After we found ones that we liked, I remember my mom, and grandma and I cleaned them up, and created pretty little scenes with Pewter sculptures. I still have one of them that we made with an Amethyst crystal, but the crystal was purchased and not harvested by us personally.

A few years ago, in 2012 to be exact, my family and I took a trip back to Quartzite. It was so awesome! My son has been naturally drawn to crystals every since he could grab them, and we certainly had a great time enjoying all the beautiful energy that Quartzite had to offer. I will be honest, it was overwhelming for me for most of the visit, as I'm extremely sensitive to these energies! However, we did leave with a few lovely pieces, and memories of course!

Crystals are part of our history, and have so much to offer. They aren't some new-age fad (although I do feel it's making quite the resurgence right now!). There are over 4,600 different types of stones, matrices, configurations, vibrations, and applications. I'm not going to dive into all 4,600, but I will share a few that I feel are incredibly supportive, especially when combined with essential oils.

If you're not 100% sold on Crystals holding, sustaining, or containing energy, let's spend time on a little sciencey stuff!

Piezoelectricity /piˌeɪzoʊˌilɛkˈtrɪsɪti/ is the electric charge that accumulates in certain solid materials (such as crystals, certain ceramics, and biological matter such as bone, DNA and various proteins)[1] in response to applied mechanical stress. (Wikipedia)

Did you know that crystals are included in computer circuiting, watches, and other devices for this reason? Everything is made up of energy. Essential oils, Crystals, plants, fruit, even you! I wanted to share a bit more about this, and I found that the best way is to share a quote from "The Secret". It helps explain energy from both a scientific and a spiritual standpoint. No matter what your perspective, it is super simple to understand.

Quartz

From The Secret

Speaker: “Describe energy.”

Scientist: “Okay, it can never be created or destroyed; it always was; always has been; everything that ever existed always exists; it’s moving into form, through form, and out of form.”

Speaker: “What created the universe?”

Theologian:“God.”

Speaker: “Okay, describe God.”

Theologian: “Always was and always has been; never can be created or destroyed; all that ever was, always will be, always moving into form, through form, and out of form.”

Speaker: “You see, it’s the same description, just different terminology.”

You are eternal life; you’re source energy; you are God manifested in human form, made to perfection.

Scripturally, we could say we that we are the image and likeness of God; we could say we are another way that the universe is becoming conscious of itself; we could say that we are the infinite field of unfolding possibility; all of that would be true.

Crystals actually help to channel, focus and harness energy, when you are using them. Together with essential oils, you can feel and see incredible energetic results. As a Certified Crystal Reader, I'm so grateful to help support the body with crystals, in addition to Essential Oils. They complement each other so well!

Below we will look at the main Chakras or energy centers of the body, and which oils and crystals you can use together to support that energy center. Add oils and crystals of choice to a Roller Bottle with fractionated coconut oil, or apply oils to energy center, and hold selected crystal(s) while meditating. The essential oils can also be diffused while you do this. Use your intuition and let you body guide you in this process.
